Here we have a live edge eastern red cedar. This tree was rescued from a local arborist that was going to put it into the wood chipper. The frame is made to fit a 18”x24” poster. Has acrylic framing grade glass and finished with Odies oil to enhance the natural look of the wood. The outside of the frame has live edge all the way around and you’ll find some bug holes through the frame. Also featured in the Live Edge is signs of spalting. Spalting in wood refers the first stage of rot for the wood but if it’s used and kept dry in time it will just have a certain discoloration of the sapwood and not rotted. A lot of woodworkers seek out this style of wood as for its effects and discolorations of the wood. This is a frame and poster combo but you can buy the frame without the poster if you shoot us a message and let us know you want the frame without the poster.
